you don't need a good reason to be having a hard day.

nothing has to have "happened." you don't owe anyone an explanation, a cause, or a tidy story about why today feels heavy. sometimes it just does. that's allowed.

a lot of us were taught to audit our own pain before we're allowed to feel it — to check whether it's "bad enough," whether someone else has it worse, whether we've earned the right to not be okay. so we end up dismissing ourselves before anyone else gets the chance.

but "other people have it worse" has never once made a single person feel better. pain isn't a competition, and you don't have to qualify for yours.

if today is one of those days with no reason attached:

  • you don't have to fix it right now.
  • you don't have to perform being okay for anyone.
  • you're allowed to just get through it. that counts.

being not okay — for a reason, for no reason, for a reason you can't name yet — is valid. all of it's welcome here.

you don't have to qualify for your own hard day.
